His Majesty’s Privy Council

His Majesty’s Most Honorable Privy Council is a body of senior officials who advise the Sovereign on the exercise of his powers and functions. Privy Counselors normally include both Government ministers and high apolitical dignitaries, and serve at the pleasure of the Sovereign.

Orders in Council are a form of subordinate legislation issued by the King on the advice of the Privy Council.
