Knighthood

The grade of Knight Bachelor and its female equivalent, Lady Knight, are a part of the Æfiran honors system, constituting the lowest degree of knighthood, and are not attached to a particular order of chivalry. They are generally awarded for merit in public service, especially to senior judges, legislators and other officials.
