The High Court of Justice
The High Court of Justice, established by the Judiciary Act 2008, is the supreme court of law in Æfira. It has general jurisdiction in both civil and criminal cases, and also has jurisdiction to determine whether Acts of Parliament are consistent with the Constitution; its decisions are final and no appeal lies to a higher court. The High Court consists of a Lord Chief Justice and at least two other Lords Justices, appointed by the Sovereign with lifetime tenure (unless removed from office by Parliament under section 2 of chapter III of the Constitution).
