His Majesty’s Privy Council

His Majesty’s Most Honorable Privy Council is the body comprising the Sovereign’s most senior counsellors, who advise the monarch on the exercise of his governmental powers, including the issue of legislative instruments known as Orders in Council. Privy Counsellors typically include both Government ministers and high apolitical officials, and serve at the pleasure of the Sovereign.
